I pinned Windows Explorer's icon to my taskbar months ago, and all worked fine, including jump lists. Now, all of a sudden, the jump list is empty, and dropping folders on the pinned icon does not produce any effect, nor recently-opened folders show up in the list although in the taskbar options I made sure to have it remember recently open items.
How can I restore the original functionality, given that all other pinned applications jump lists work correctly? I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64, updated with the latest patches. This worked great. So, I cut all of the files out from that folder, then pinned something to my Windows Explorer jumplist. Worked perfect and let me maintain all of the other jumplists I had created.
I have put the file extension in RUN and still nothing, how do I find this folder to clean it out, this is driving me nuts!
I use WIndows 7 professional. Observation 1: I just upgraded from Office Starter to full Office by getting a product key. Full Office was installed on my laptop when I purchased it but only Starter was licensed.
Full Office was unusable until the upgrade. I suspect that might have a part in this jumplist issue. However, from Windows Explorer I cannot see the 2 folders under Recent. Again, move those files somewhere else or delete them. Some users have reported a succesful repair by moving the files to a safe location, restarting and then moving the files back up.
In my case I had to delete all files and start fresh to fix the jump list feature. If you are a Gmail user , you can not only drag and drop attachments from a Windows Explorer window or your desktop, but can also call up a jump list and drag a file directly to Gmail's attachment box.
